Meet Your Personal Pet Care Provider

After the initial phone discussion, a Guardian Pet Sitters® interviewer will call to setup an appointment for our registration visit. The interviewer and pet care provider will visit you and your pet(s) in your home and fill out the necessary paperwork and ask pertinent questions. Your pet care provider will interact with your pet(s), and become familiar with your home. Both will gladly answer any questions you may have. The appointment takes approximately one hour and by the time it's over you will have complete confidence that your pet(s) will be well cared for by Guardian Pet Sitters®.

How To Get Started

The registration visit with a Guardian Pet Sitters® interviewer and your pet care provider takes approximately one hour. By the time the Guardian Pet Sitters' representatives leave your home you will be confident that your pet and home will be in good hands while you're away.

The purpose of the registration visit is for the interviewer and pet care provider to meet you and your pet(s) and to complete the Service Agreement, pet profile(s), pick up two keys and collect payment for the scheduled reservation.

The pet care provider will take the time during this interview to interact and become familiar with your pet(s) and to learn more about your home.

Service Agreement

The following information is needed to complete the paperwork regarding the home and security:
  • client cat: SpazNames and phone numbers of relatives, friends, or neighbors who will act as an emergency contact or who may have access to the residence.
  • A telephone number where we could reach you during the service dates in case of emergency.
  • If you live in an apartment, we would need the phone number of the manager's office and the after-hour emergency contact.
  • If you live in a house that is leased, we would need the name and phone number of the landlord.
  • Name and phone number of pool maintenance company/person.
  • Name and phone number of alarm company
  • Name and phone number of maid/cleaning service
  • Name and phone number of electrician, plumber, and A/C company/person

Pet Profile

The following information is needed for your pet(s):
  • Name of your pet's veterinarian and/or clinic with address and phone number.
  • Names of all medications with detailed instructions to administer. It is very helpful if all medicines are left in original bottles.
  • Brand and type of food that pet(s) eat along with brand of treats.
  • Brand of litter used
During the registration visit the pet care provider will get to know your pet(s) and their routine. They will ask many questions to help learn about them and will need to know of any illnesses they currently have or have had in the past.

Keys

client bird LadWe understand the enormous responsibility that is involved and the trust you are putting in us to keep your key(s) safe and secure. For this reason, we code our keys and do not make a duplicate without the permission of the client. Our safe and secure coding system prevents anyone from linking the key back to the client.

Guardian Pet Sitters® requires two keys during an assignment. One key is for the pet care provider and one is for the office. This ensures that if an emergency arises with your pet care provider, another qualified pet provider will be able to continue caring for your pet(s) without difficulty. Keys are coded and kept in a safe place. Before your pet care professional leaves the initial interview, both keys will be tested to make sure they work.

By using the Guardian Pet Sitters® key program, keys can be retained by the pet care provider and the office allowing all future service to be handled by phone. We do not allow clients to hide keys and we do not lock keys in the house on the last visit. Our satisfied clients enjoy knowing that if an emergency occurs (a last minute trip or late night at the office) we can step in quickly and make sure their pet(s) are cared for.

If you prefer not to use our safe key service, a pickup/drop off key charge will be added to your next service charge.

Please note we do not accept garage door openers in lieu of keys. If there was a power outage we would not be able to get into the house and take care of your precious pets.

Phones

Our phones are staffed Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. After office hours, weekends, and holidays or during heavy calling times your call may go to our voicemail. We monitor our voice mail closely and return calls punctually. If it is an emergency we will return your call without delay, however if it is not an emergency, we will return your call during our normal business hours.

Bookings

In order to offer the highest quality service to all our clients, we need to have advance reservations when possible. Because the care of your pet is paramount, we do not overbook. Short notice reservations will be accepted if space is available. New clients please allow at least 48 hours for our registration visit. We are known for our ability to accommodate our clients whenever an emergency arises or business travel is involved.

Daily Logs

Upon each visit or overnight stay, the pet care provider will leave you a Daily Log informing you what occurred during each visit or overnight stay. You will also be informed of any concerns that the pet care provider noticed. Most of our clients upon their return enjoy reading about their animal's behavior when they are away. This also will give you the peace of mind that your pet(s) and home were well cared for during your absence.
